Since 2019, the performance and video artist Luisa Eugeni (born 1987) and the composer and musician Mattia Bonafini (born 1980) have been developing interdisciplinary projects together as the collective Sineumbra, which they realise in the form of multimedia spatial installations with video projections, music and performative elements.

Eugeni and Bonafini developed a new project for the Kunsthalle Bremen, presented in a comprehensive multimedia exhibition entitled SOMA. It is the first solo exhibition of the artist duo.

Sineumbra traces the disappearance of Italian culture and traditions, which can be attributed to both major social changes and natural disasters, and the resulting change in the character of people, places and landscapes. Following a collective dynamic working idea, selected actors from the fields of philosophy, literature, politics, performance and dance will be involved in the artistic process.

The exhibition, which appeals to all the senses, invites visitors to engage with questions of collective insecurity and trauma.

While listening to these compositions, you will be able to experience only part of the aural journey planned for the exhibition. The compositions, together with the videos, are meant to be played simultaneously, in an asynchronous loop.
